Next Meeting

Next general meeting: July 10, 2008
normally the first Thursday of every month, moving to the 2nd Thurs in July to minimize potential conflicts with the 4th.

Time: 6:30pm — feel free to come early to chat and bring a pupu to share
Place: Democratic Party Headquarters
1050 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite D-26
The new Democratic Party HQ is in the Ward Warehouse, above the Nohea Gallery and next to Congressman Abercrombie’s office.

  1. Convene meeting at 6:30pm, Introductions; adopt agenda
  2. Review minutes from May meeting (posted on our yahoogroup)
  3. Vote: By-Laws changes: current draft here – PDH By-Laws
  4. Vote: Steering Committee
    1. Vote for 2 co-chairs first
    2. Vote for 5 other members second
    3. Current nominees: Laurie Baron, Gail Breakey, Bart Dame, Peter Ehrhorn, Josh Frost, Mary Guinger, Lynn Mcgovern, Rachel Orange & Bob Schacht
  5. Legislative Sub-Committees: Consider volunteering to help work to put resolutions from your convention committee into legislation!
  6. 2008 Candidate endorsements and support discussion
  7. Neighbor Island Outreach: Anyone want to start another PDH group? How can we help?
  8. Fundraising ideas: The convention drained us. Are there events we can host that might help put us back in the black?
    1. Fundraiser event in coordination with ADA/H ?
    2. Regular movie showings? Anyone know of a good venue?

    2. Primary Registration Deadline: Thursday, August 21
    3. Candidate Filing Deadline - Tuesday, July 22
    4. Primary Election - Saturday, September 20
    5. General Election - Tuesday, November 4
