This is definitely a change of attitude on Mazie's part from our meeting on the 18th at Kapolei. I hope that she is understanding that it is Congresses responsibility to Impeach both Bush and Cheney. The list of crimes and misdeameanors is so long and cannot be ignored. She's a dynamic lady, and a progressive Dem along the lines of Patsy Mink, not as fervent, yet, a significant improvement over Case... I expressed my concern about FISA and she agreed that it needs to be addressed ASAP! I educated her about congressional Inherent Contempt proceedings, and she immediately grasped the significance of it, and made sure her aide wrote it down! Impeachment was the last item I discussed with her, and she assured me she was extremely receptive to articles of impeachment, and said she was in consultation with other House Dems in prodding Nancy to place it on the table!!! I thought it was a very productive meet and greet! Code Pink and various other protesters were everywhere... Aloha,

Evidently she is not versed in Constitutional Law. Concern was expressed to Mazie that playing politics with our Constitution is not a wise decision. She needs to hear from more constituents. The last tlking point (about impeachment overshadowing the presidential nomination proess) was given to me by Jerry Nadler as well. This is message discipline and may genuinely be what they are thinking. Bottom line, if those 3 talking points are what they truly believe then Christy's go talk to you Rep and remind them that they work fo r you campaign is even more critical than I thought. They need to know that their view is completely out of touch. They need to REALLY understand what their constituents want. They need to FEEL the burning desire for accountability in the form of impeachment, not just to get rid of this President and VP, but to prevent their unconstitutional actions from calcifying into precedent.
