Kucinich endorsement??
I was a little surprised to see this article announcing Kucinich backing Hee in the 2nd CD race. The article implies an endorsement, although all it really says is:
Hee said he received a call from the former presidential candidate last night thanking him for his strong stance against the war in Iraq and supporting his plan to create a federal department of peace and nonviolence.
Kucinich gave “a strong note of encouragement” to him, Hee said, and “wished me good luck” in tomorrow’s 10-person Democratic primary.
Yes, Hee has expressed a strong stance against the war in Iraq during this campaign, but so have several of the other candidates in this race. I wonder if a similar call was made to anyone else, but Hee was just quicker to release the information. Or perhaps Hee was singled out because he has been the only one to openly endorse Akaka in the US Senate race.

I don’t believe Dennis would have endorsed someone in this race without first talking to some of his core supporters in Hawaii. Ave Diaz on Maui is a good friend to Dennis and was the co-chair of his 2004 Presidential campaign in Hawaii. She is publicly supporting Mazie Hirono. I was the other co-chair and am supporting Gary Hooser as my first choice, though I also like several of the other candidates and am confident they would make good representatives in Congress.
My assessment of views among our PDH members leads me to believe that Gary Hooser is probably the favorite choice, followed by Mazie and Brian Schatz. I have heard of support for several of the other candidates. I do not believe I have heard anyone speak of Clayton as their first choice.
So I doubt the accuracy of this report. I HAVE forwarded the news article to Congressman Kucinich and will let you know his response.
