<description>Obermann's show is a mix. I don't watch it often-- the format is too junky. But Olbermann himself has done some excellent commentaries, and this piece on Rumsfeld is one of his better ones.

The Republican noise machine has been very busy this week trying to implant the tag of "fascism" on Islam, and trying to get us to think that we're in a situation like WW II, which is wrong in so many ways that its hard to figure out where to begin.

Better to just sidestep the whole tirade and accuse Rumfeld and Bush with crippling our national defense by squandering our strength in ill-advised wars, stretching our armed forces too thin, and allowing them to be pinned down in far away places, where they suffer enormous casualties to body and mind. Through their bungling, we have become a crippled superpower.
