throw something heavy and pointed….

i was also at the akaka/case forum today. i agree with bart regarding his comments, but i feel its important to talk about what can be done. i doubt anyone reading this is a case supporter, but regardless of which side of this fight you are on, it is important to question our elected officials (or in this instance, question the arrogant ass running for a position he is unqualified for).

while i think taking ed case to task on his position the ILLEGAL US invasion of iraq and the crisis that has resulted, i think there are questions regarding other issues that congressman (how the hell did this man become a congressman???) case should be made to answer:

why did the congressman vote in favor of a tax cut that benefits primarily the rich?
why did the congressman vote in favor of a bill making it harder for average americans to file for bankruptcy, when the most common reason people file for bankruptcy is because of medical bills they cannot afford to pay?
how does the congressman respond to a poll placing him amoung the MOST CONSERVATIVE democratic congressmen?
why doesn’t the congressman post his positions, achievements, and voting record on his campaign website, or publish them in his campaign material?
regardless of whether you agree with me that ed case is a arrogant ass (or should i say elephant), we should all make a point to press the congressman on the issues. this is something i intend to do as often as i have a chance and i urge each of you to do the same. check out his ‘talk story’ schedule and plan to attend.

on the other hand, if you’ve already made the right choice, then join akaka’s campaign as a volunteer or as an organizer in your community. if you are indeed an akaka supporter, as i am, we must work to do all we can to send this man back to the senate where we belong. we need all the LIBERAL, COMPASIONATE, DEMOCRATS we can get!

ps - if you’re reading this, are an akaka supporter, and living in palolo valley, please contact me if you want to help! mailto:peoplesdialectic@gmail.com
